FRSC prosecutes 54 traffic offenders in Katsina

The Mobile Court of the Federal Road Safety
Commission in Katsina had prosecuted 54 people
for various traffic-related offences.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Alhaji Habu Dauda,
made the disclosure in an interview with the News
Agency of Nigeria in Katsina on Thursday.
He said the offences were overloading, dangerous
driving, drivers’ licence, number plate, seat belt and
helmet violations, among others.
Dauda said that the court gave the defaulters an
option to pay fines according to the penalty
prescribed for the offences committed.
He, therefore, said that FRSC would continue to
enlighten the public through the media and public
lectures on the dangers associated with violating
traffic rules and regulations.
Dauda also urged religious leaders to continue to
assist the commission in preaching on the
importance of obeying traffic regulations as part of
efforts to reduce road accidents in the state.
