How To Play Guinness FootBall Manager

In August last year, Guinness Nigeria, brought Ex-
Chelsea FC Champions league winning manager,
Roberto Di Matteo to Nigeria
in a move to
encourage football lovers to follow in his footsteps
and sign up on the Guinness Football Manager
platform.
Guinness Football Manager aka Guinness Fantasy
Football for Africa is a platform where you can
manage your own fantasy football team for free and
score points to win fantastic prizes each week.
Prizes are awarded in five categories: Manager of
the Week, Manager of the Month, Manager of the
Season, Highest Scoring League – Month, Highest
Scoring League – Season.
To get started, you sign up on the Guinness Football
Manager website, visit the team selection page to
select the 11 players of your team and register the
team. If you already have a Guinness VIP account,
you can sign up with it.
There is a list of players from different English
premiership clubs, from which you can select the
11 players of your fantasy team. from. Some of
those players are labelled as "star/elite" players.
You are only allowed 2 star/elite players in your
fantasy team. You can select a maximum of 3
players from the same football club and you are
allowed one captain change per month. Your
Guinness fantasy team must consist of 11 Players
and use a 4-4-2 formation:
Under-performing players, injuries and
suspensions can be a football Manager's nightmare
- so you will be able to use 35 transfers throughout
the League season. You are allowed a maximum of
5 transfers per week to keep your team fresh.
After registering your fantasy team, your team will
score points based on the real-life performance of
your selected players in the English Premier League
matches during the 2013/14 season. The first
scoring matches were on Saturday, August 17,
2013. Those who signed up before then, have been
earning points from the first game of the season.
So, if you are just registering, you will start earning
points from the next match day.
Game weeks run from first Kick-off Saturday to
midnight Friday throughout the 2013/14 Football
season. Captain changes have to be made ahead of
the first scheduled kick off each Saturday.
If you’re doing well enough to reach the Top 100
Managers in Guinness Football Manager you’ll be
able to see your team on the Leaderboards page.
Your overall position will also be displayed on your
My Team page.
From time to time, you will be able to score bonus
points by activating codes printed on scratch-cards
or on special promotional Guinness crowns (bottle
caps). These codes enable special features for a
game week such as: Double points for a goal,
Double points for a specified player, Extra Star
player. You can find full details of the bonus points
in the How to Play section.
On the Guinness Fantasy Football platform, you can
join or create a league and you and all your mates
can keep a check on who's the best manager of the
group. Each
league has a unique pin which you will have to send
to your friends so that they can join your league.
