PDP remains strong in Katsina – Gambo

The Chairman of the Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Rabiu Gambo, said the party remained strong and organised in spite of the defection of some members to the APC.
Gambo stated this while receiving PDP Women Awareness Group which paid him a courtesy visit at the party’s secretariat in Katsina on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Alhaji Abdullahi Aminchi, former Deputy Governor to Umaru Yar’Adua of the state, had defected to APC.
Aminchi was also Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
“PDP in Katsina is stable and united and is not facing any crisis. In spite of the fact that some members benefited from the party, yet they chose to dump it for selfish reasons.
“PDP will continue to wax stronger in spite of what people say or do against it,” he said.
Gambo said the administration of Gov. Ibrahim Shema had executed numerous projects that had impacted positively on the lives of people of the state.

He called on the group to assist the party and the government in enlightening the people on the various development projects executed by the government.
Earlier, the Chairperson of the group, Hajia Binta Haruna, said it was formed in order to ensure victory for the party in 2015.
She said the group had appreciated the efforts of the government in improving the lives of women in the state, and urged it to continue with the good work
